Welcome to StoryNudge (StoryNudge.app, "we," "us," or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and delete your information when you use StoryNudge.app (the "Service") and connect your social media accounts via our integration APIs (including TikTok and Meta/Instagram).

1. Information We Collect

We collect information directly from you, automatically through your interaction with our Service, and through third-party platform integrations.

A. Information You Provide Directly:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, and profile preferences when you register for an account.
  • User Content & Schedule Data: Reminder titles, dollar amounts, due dates, custom media, generated canvas images/videos, and scheduled publishing times.

B. Information Collected via Social Media APIs (TikTok & Meta/Instagram):

When you choose to link your social media accounts using official OAuth authorization protocols, we collect limited user data provided by third-party APIs:

  • Account Identifiers: User ID (OpenID), username, display name, profile avatar URL, and account type (e.g., personal, creator, or business).
  • Access Tokens: OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens required to post or schedule content on your behalf.
  • Content Status Metadata: Confirmation IDs and publish status returned by third-party APIs after content is scheduled or posted.
  • We do NOT collect, store, or have access to your personal TikTok or Instagram account passwords.

C. Automatically Collected Usage & Device Data:

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, log files, device identifiers, and timestamp activity when navigating StoryNudge.app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your data strictly to deliver, maintain, and improve the StoryNudge service, specifically to:

  • Authenticate your account and manage user sessions.
  • Render custom visual reminder cards and videos generated within our canvas editor.
  • Automate scheduled posting to your connected TikTok or Instagram account based on your explicit commands.
  • Manage OAuth authentication token refresh sequences to prevent service interruption.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries and communicate important app updates.

3. Third-Party Platform Integrations & Data Sharing

To publish content on your behalf, StoryNudge connects with third-party platforms. Your data is processed in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

  • TikTok API: Used to publish scheduled reminder posts directly to your account (including private SELF_ONLY mode).
  • Meta / Instagram Graph API: Used to schedule Instagram Stories or Reels.

Data Sharing Restrictions:

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data or social media account information to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks. We share data only with Cloud Infrastructure Providers (e.g., Supabase) and when required by legal obligations.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • Token Protection: Third-party OAuth tokens (TikTok/Meta access and refresh tokens) are encrypted at rest in our databases using enterprise-grade encryption controls.
  • Media Retention: Uploaded or generated visual media assets are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage buckets strictly for the duration necessary to publish your scheduled post or maintain your account archive.
  • Security Measures: We employ SSL/TLS encryption, strict Row Level Security (RLS) database policies, and continuous security monitoring.

5. User Privacy Controls & Post Visibility

  • Visibility Management: StoryNudge explicitly honors the privacy controls you select. When scheduling reminders designed for personal use, posts may be transmitted using private parameters (SELF_ONLY / Private mode).
  • Revoking Social Access: You can disconnect StoryNudge from your TikTok or Instagram accounts at any time through the Connected Accounts tab in your dashboard, or directly inside your TikTok or Instagram app permissions settings.

6. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

We retain your personal data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

How to Request Data Deletion:

You have the right to request the deletion of all personal data, social account links, and scheduled content associated with your profile at any time.

  • Self-Service: You may delete individual scheduled reminders or disconnect your social accounts directly from the dashboard settings on StoryNudge.app.
  • Account & Data Erasure Requests: To request complete erasure of your user profile, account details, and stored tokens, send an email to privacy@storynudge.app with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
  • Automated Processing: Upon receiving a request, all associated user data, active OAuth tokens, and stored media files will be permanently erased from our active databases within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

StoryNudge is not intended for or directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
